Bond-N-Flex
Structural Hoof Repair Material - Product
Information
BondnFlex is an easy to use, flexible, structural
bonding material that securely adheres to the hoof wall.
BondnFlex has been thoroughly tested by veterinarians and farriers.
BondnFlex is used in the reconstruction of underrun heels, repair
of damaged hoof wall, repair of quarter cracks and seedy toe,
the correction of bent legs in foals and the application of shoes
without nails.
The BondnFlex starter kit consists of an applicator gun, 2 x 40ml
cartridges of BondnFlex, 4 mixing tips and a technical demonstration
video. Thereafter cartridges and tips may be purchased individually.
The cartridge and mixing tip automatically dispenses & mixes
the 2 resin components. BondnFlex requires no manual mixing, no
heat curing & no wrapping. Simply load the cartridge into
the gun, apply to the defect and allow to cure.
BondnFlex is a non sag, structural bonding material, providing
maximum strength without fillers.
BondnFlex has a working life of 2-4 minutes & can be rasped
and nailed within 15-20 minutes.
A note from the distributor
Ten years ago I was asked to shoe a horse with a particularly
nasty quarter crack, which extended from the sole right up, through
the coronary band, and which bled every day during track work.
This horse had great potential, but was always just short of winning
because of constant pain in the hoof.
Numerous bar shoes, quarter clipped shoes and hoof strips later,
it was still a problem. In desperation, I followed up an advertisement
and purchased some Bondnflex hoof repair material.
Dubiously I applied it as directed, bonding the crack together.
To my delight the heel was totally stable, with no bleeding during
work. I then used BondnFlex on all manner of hoof problems, from
missing side walls to seedy toe and under run heels, rebuilding
entire hoofs and bonding both aluminium and steel shoes to shelly
feet without using any nails. I tried other hoof reconstruction
products, but could not duplicate the ease of application or the
successful results that I achieved consistently with BondnFlex.
I then became the National Distributor for BondnFlex and it is
available in every state of Australia, thus helping other people
who, like me, were continually frustrated at seeing good horses
unable to reach their potential due to debilitating hoof problems.
As a Master Farrier, my first obligation is to the horse and the
owner, and I have continued to try all hoof repair products on
the market. BondnFlex still stand alone as "The one that
REALLY works" - it does not produce excessive heat, does
not crack or fall out when correctly applied, and is easy to use.
I will only use the best, and I use BondnFlex.
I also believe it is very important for me to be readily accessible
to the end user of BondnFlex, so that I can impart any knowledge
which may help others in effecting successful and speedy hoof
repairs.
David Farmilo
Prior to any reconstruction or repair, all damaged
and separated hoof wall must be removed. Once this is completed,
the hoof is thoroughly cleaned using acetone and a wire brush
to remove the dirt and oily film.
It is important that oil or iodine are not used on the hoof prior
to using BondnFlex.
BondnFlex is dispensed directly from the applicator gun into the
reconstruction or repair area. A wooden paddle pop spatula can
be used to spread the material if needed.
Damaged hooves are repaired in minutes and the horse can be returned
to training or use within hours.
Unused resin remaining in the cartridge is saved and recapped,
and the mixer is discarded. BondnFlex has a storage life of approximately
18 months at a temperature of under 23 degrees, and can be stored
in the refrigerator.
