abc of hoof care dvd

Fantastic!
The best money I ever spent, worth every cent.
A simple and brilliant idea, that is easy to use. All our horses' feet now look correct and are in great condition. Something no one else has ever managed to do when tending our horses' feet.
I highly recommend your product and DVD's to every one.

Bond-N-Flex

My first attempt to cure 'Buddy' (13 year old Australian Stock Horse) of his ongoing seedy toe problem in the front off side hoof with Bond 'n Flex failed.
I had used a commercial wax and grease remover to clean the hoof, instead of acetone; and we assumed that this was the reason that the bond was unsuccessful.
However, having watched the DVD, I realised that it was not just the acetone, and that the repair that I was undertaking was larger than I had initially anticipated.
I purchased a dremel tool (an item which I now can't imagine not having in my kit) and extended the excavation of the seedy toe much further than I had previously.
I also included multiple anchor holes in the outer horn as per Mr Farmilo's example.
I then debrided the whole area several times with wire brush and acetone, before applying the Bond'n Flex in two stages.
I can now quite confidently say that my previous excavation of the affected area was nowhere near adequate, but also, that I would not have been able to do the required amount (without sending the horse lame) had it not been for the Bond 'n Flex Product.
Traditional corrective methods had brought 'Buddy' very close to a cure in this particular hoof, but never a final result.
The initial treatment was in late January and I am now pleased to report that 'Buddy' today (April 27) had his third trim since and has now grown out the major part of the repair.
The bond is still rock solid and the hoof remains sound.
I anticipate that I may use the product again sometime over the next two trimmings, for stabilisation as the last of the Bond 'n Flex grows out, but all round there is no doubt of the success of this treatment.
I would like to thank you Anne for your speedy response to my first email (sent at 10.30pm / replied to at 7.30am next day). The concept of customer service seems to be as much a dying art as that of the Farrier, but you restored my faith.
And I would like to thank Mr. Farmilo for the excellent advice and demonstration via both your emails and the DVD.
I would be very pleased if this, or apart of this, email could be of use to you in promoting the Bond 'n Flex product, I am a true convert!!
What I think is most interesting is that, with many people's increasing tendancy towards Barefoot and Natural Farriery, this product has allowed me to perform a repair, that even extensive corrective techniques had not achieved, without ever setting a shoe.

Bond-N-Flex has been successfully used by the farriers at Lindsay Park Stud for the repair of damaged hoof wall in such horses as Bahi, Jeune, Laubali, Cavarelle and Kawtuban. We have been using this product for a variety of hoof conditions, wall cracks, seedy toe & reconstruction of heels, toes and quarters. We have found it to have excellent properties of durability, flexibility & bonding with excellent results in the above mentioned conditions.

A miracle in a tube.

Just a note to let you know we have used the resin on a mare and it seems to have done the job.
She is walking much better now so hopefully she will make a full recovery. Please send 2 more tubes so I can have some on hand for future problems.

She raced yesterday with your Bond-n-Flex, she was only just beaten and they ran a class record.

HOOF-LINE

Many thanks for the clinic in Capel this year and teaching me the proper use of the hoof line.
On returning home I immediately set to work on my horses.
One in particular has always had long heels and stubby little toes which, with her short upright pasterns caused her to walk toes first, consequently wearing them short and allowing the heels to grow long.
Between the first trim using the hoof line to measure (and letting the time to pass far too long) and now, I notice on this second trim that she is walking with level feet so that the hoof wall has grown a uniform length.
The toes are not worn off excessively and the heels have not grown longer and out of proportion to the rest of the foot.
Of course there are still problems with her feet (weedy little frog, contracted heels, dished toes) but I think that over time and with proper attention they will come good.
Obviously, judging by the change, I was not trimming correctly but now seem to be on a better track.

The hoof line has been a HUGE help.

The numbers aren’t wrong even if my eyes have been.

I, and my horses in particular, certainly appreciate all the help that you have given

My husband uses David's HOOF-LINE tool for all of his shoeing and finds it a very valuable tool.

I recently shod a horse that had been retired from racing and was given to my client as a hack because he was hitting. After asking a few questions and learning that several farriers had attempted to correct the problem, I approached my client with the proposition of using the HOOF-LINE and balancing the foot up and maybe starting the horse again as my client was a trainer. She agreed and we shod the horse. He has successfully won 5 straight starts at our local turf club and hasn't had a problem since.

I've been faithfully using the HOOF-LINE and can't believe how something SO simple can make such a difference in my work. The foot is balanced after trimming with very minor touches needed here or there prior to putting the shoe on. It's amazing! David - thanks for developing this tool.
Diane (Vermont)

When I fed the horses tonight, I tried the HOOF-LINE on one of the horses that the farrier trimmed two days ago, and it looks pretty good. The HOOF-LINE is an attractive tool, well made and is a great aid in helping the horse owner. Thank you also for your attitude in your writings with the aim to assist primarily the horse, but also the owner in achieving results. Much Appreciated

I ordered the HOOF-LINE last week and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for coming up with this simple and easy to use device. I breed miniature and shetland ponys and it is so hard to find anything that suits their feet as most things are too big but with the hoof-line, it doesn't matter how small their hoofs are, it still works. so a big thank you again.
Janet (Australia)

I am very happy with the results.

David's Book: Horse, Shoes & Tales

A good read guaranteed. I have only had this book for a few days and just can't put it down. Full of handy hints and great advice.

My husband and I ordered your book just before christmas and have been meaning to send you an email to tell you we think your book is fantastic, I often hear my husband snickering away to himself whilst reading your book, it keeps him amused and he often makes mention of situations that you have been in whilst growing up that remind him of epispodes of torture he went through himself whilst learning about horses. Your advice on hoof care etc is wonderful. Once again thanks for you down to earth outlook on life with horses.

Entertaining a great read from the man with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
